Last fall I was asked by Boro Gallery if I was interested in having a solo show at their new gallery space just off the high street in Edinburgh, Scotland. Obviously, I jumped at the chance even though I had not had a solo show in almost twenty years. It meant creating all new work in a short amount of time, and creating several larger pieces while staying in Edinburgh a month prior to the opening. A lot of work in six months time.

While I quickly got to work planning the art side of things Rachel got to work handling all the logistics: flights, accommodations, nearest grocery store, nearest public transportation, and of course… nearest pub. We took to this like a team and with the exception of some inflated shipping costs everything went very smoothly.

Six months of creating and planning all came to life on June 13th at 7pm. Rob, the gallery owner, and his team did a great job looking after me and getting all the work nicely curated and hung in the cool environment that is Boro Gallery. Edinburgh definitely comes to life a little later in the evening so the opening started out slow but by 10pm things were lively. It was great to see so many faces, old friends and new, and get to talk to so many great folks.

I even got to put some paint on a wall with the legendary Edinburgh writer, and fellow Agent of Change, Derm. We were invited to paint a wall for the Edinburgh International Mural Festival that was debuting at the Hidden Door 2025 Festival at The Paper Factory in Edinburgh. It was a good day.
